Abiy Ahmed's war drums under the cover of peace

Ethiopia's northern most province Tigray and Eritrea have never been at  war. Due to issues of policies, where Issay's Afeworqi, self-appointed leader of Eritrea, provoked war between Ethiopia and Eritrea in 1998. Tigray's population of about 8 million was in catch 22. Issayas Afworqi allowed his fighter planes bomb children at Ayder School, Mekelle, which led to war between Ethiopia and Eritrea.

Since the advent of self-appointed PM of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed there has been a strange form of peace deal with Eritrea. To our amazing, a war of annilation against Tigray & Eritrea is in the making We believe Issayas Afeworqi again calling for war against Tigray Province, a strategic region for both Eritrea and Ethiopia. In fact Ethiopia and Eritrea  are Tigray in many ways.

The new PM of Ethiopia came to power in a clandestine way. The so-called  Qerro (Oromo Youth) were organised to sabotage TPLF-EPRDF. Qerro called for strikes and burned factories. Roads were blocked , banks and hotels were ransacked. In the amhara Region, Fano (Amhara   Youth Group) were burning factories, killing cicilians. Abiy Ahmed and Lemma Mergessa Oromo), Gedu Endargachew (Amhara), Demeke Makonnen (Wollo Oromo) might have been behind these riots. OLF (Oromo Liberation Front) and Ginbot 7 ( an armed Ethiopian Opposition based in Eritrea) were also supporting the riots. CIA and Egypt have been also  implicated.The Qerro and Fano movements are hijacked to serve the Amhara elites of dominating Ethiopia.

Ethiopian's in diaspora were happy to embrace the new self-appointed PM of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed. Every one supported him thinking that he was for peace and unity of Ethiopia.  He pardoned all priosners. Some were common criminals detained for killing innocent civilians. Andargatchew Tsige, a leader of Ginbot 7 was among the detainees who were released. Terrorist criminals like Colonel Goshu Wolde ( Foreign Minister under Colonel Mengistu) were given a hero welcome.  At the same time, fake accusations and harrassment were thrown agains members of EPRDF, specially to those with Tigrayan and Eritrean background. Semegnew Bekele, CEO of The Geatt Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) was assassinated in broad daylight at Mesquel Square in Addis Ababa.Abiy Ahmed was conspiring to overthrow TPLF-EPRDF by using former members of the Derg and the so-called Opposition.

It seems Abiy Ahmed is out on a journey to disband TPLF-EPRDF. There is news that some officers of The Ethiopian Defence Forces are arrested. About 40 managers and leaders of Metal and Engineering Corporation (MeTEC)  have been detained after they were invited  for a meeting.

Eritrea's Issayas Afeworqi visted last weekend Amhara Regional State and on 11 November 2018, a running event was organised in Addis Ababa, which was opened by Tewedros Kassahun, an outspoken anti-EPRDF singer. Such events are good to bring people together, but they are counterpredoctive if it is meant to isolate and alientate TPLF-EPRDF or Tigray (& Eritrea).We are not sure whether Issayas Afeworqi i in his right mind. But his taking side with the amhara tribalists should be condemened.

In Mekelle, a peace ( rather  a get together party) concert was held. Artists from Eritrea like Helen Meles were on stage. Such events should continue between the two Tigrays (ላይኛውና ታችኛው ትግሬ as Amhara tribalists say). There has been no war between Eritrea and Tigray Regional State of Ethiopia. In fact, Tigray has been helping Eritreans who were prisoners of war in the most human way , thanks to the late PM Meles Zenawi's efforts).
