To the Israel Emabassy , Addis Ababa & Consulate office Gondar,
We , the Qemant people, ask for the support of the the Israel Emabassy to express your condemnation of the mass killing of Qemant people in various areas/weredas of North Gondar by the Amhara regional government soldiers , special force (AKA Liyu hayil) and militia. We , the Qemant people, solicit your support in standing for humanity and for the Qemant cause which is a constitutional right of self governance.
The Qemant people were historically one of the original settlers between the vast area from the Nile gorge to the red sea from more than five thousand (5,000) years back since their migration from the land of Caan (Israel), and now inhabiting on most parts of North Gondar as a minority ethnic group.
The Amhara regional government started the inhuman act against the Qemant people by cancelling the name Qemant from the national census in 2006. That was part of ethnic cleansing of indigenous Qemant people from their own land by using various subtle and forceful strategies. The Qemant cause for identity recognition and self administration was started right then against this crime on humanity that can be named as racial eradication or a silent genocide. Now on the verge of setting up a self-administration of Qemant special Zone consisting 72 kebeles (areas elected for autonomy by way of a referendum) ,the regional government is unwilling to responsibly respond to the Qemant request and has rather been very determined in suppressing the request using various ways.
To name few: by mass detention and false allegation of the Qemant representatives, by forcefully removing Qemant civil servants from their work places and homes , by killing Qemant farmers , by budgeting public tax money and sponsoring all forms of the war against Qemant using Cadres and the media to tell conspiring stories such as labeling anyone identifying themselves as Qemant as they are 'Tigres or TPLF' , subjugating Qemant kebeles(areas) etc...
The government is absurdly doing all this crime against its own people who once voted for them , against the people who they are supposed to govern and serve. As the brutality and mass killing by government soldiers got aggravated, the only thing the poor Qemant farmers are recently doing is self-defense protecting their families and properties in their own homes. The media controlled by the regional government is forced to cook news against innocent Qemant farmers and the legal representatives of the community , and provide the false news to various media outlets and organisations.
We, the Qemant people , solicit for a helping hand from you , the Israel community, the historical allies of the Gondar people , to formally express your condemnation of the killing of Qemant people by government forces.
Looking forward to co-operation and support of the State and government of Israel with the oppressed people of Kemant, North East Ethiopia.,we remain committed to the struggle against the people of Kemant!

This has been going on since the last 5 years, getting worse since Aby Ahmed Ali took control of the government in Addis Ababa. The Qemant are one of the ancient settlers in Ethiopia. However their ancient territoritory and culture is entirely dominated by the Amhara tribe. Ethiopians should condemn such inhuman actions of th Amhara Regional Government against the Qemant people and show solidarity with the people of Qemant. Emperor Twedros was from Qemant and Tigre, not from the Amhara tribe. Killing and harassing the Qemant people is betraying Emperor Tewedros. The Qemant of people should have their ancient teritory restored and respected. The Amhara migrated from South West Ethiopia following the Oromo/Galla invasion. We need to allow every tribe to have equal right. Unity without equality is impossible. We post a video about the Qemant people's movement.
